New Trees Elizabeth Street!

In March of 2021 Missouri Department of Conservation notified the Jefferson City Housing Authority that they were awarded a grant to plant trees on Elizabeth Street and in the playground areas. The trees were provided as a part of the Conservation Department’s tree grant program which aims to improve and enhance urban forestry. The Housing Authority applied for a grant to remove 9 hazard trees, plant 53 new trees and treat 2 trees for Emerald Ash Bore disease on Elizabeth Street. These trees will provide shade, bright and colorful foliage throughout the street. The City of Jefferson is partnering with the Housing Authority in supervising the planting and providing supplies for the trees.
